Still wondering if you should try Customer Manager Online Beta? We’d like to help make that decision a little bit easier. Lately, we’ve noticed a lot of questions and interest on our Community Forum around what we’re going to charge for Customer Manager after the Beta period is over.

First, we want to reassure you that our Beta is completely FREE….yes, we really mean FREE! Once you’ve signed up for the Beta, you can use Customer Manager Online as often and as much as you like. We won’t interrupt your service or expect anything more from you besides the occasional request for feedback on a feature or part of the service we are working on.  Really, it’s that simple. No catch.

As with all Intuit products and services, our team is dedicated to solving complex business problems with easy, simple and affordable solutions. While we haven’t yet landed on a specific pricing plan, what we can tell you is that our first pricing plan for Customer Manager Online won’t cost any more than it does to take your team out for a coffee once a month. So if your office has a budget for coffee, you already have the budget for us!

What’s more, when you transition from Beta to Paid, there will be no change in how you use the service, that means all of your information and your settings that you use today, will continue as normal. We are working hard to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible.

So, if you haven’t already, try Customer Manager Online today. Its Free for now, and within your coffee budget after Beta. What have you got to lose?

    Cheers,

    Nazima

The sales page for Customer Manager says…”You can sync Customer Manager Online with QuickBooks 2009″, but does it also work with Enterprise?

    • Nazima Says:

      Hi Mark,

      Thanks for your question.

Short answer - were working on it! We hope to add sync capability to QB Enterprise in the near future. Feel free to regularly check back on the website or right here on the blog for the latest updates.

Thanks again and keep the questions coming!

Do you have any plans to create recurring appointments with the calendar? I am very interested since I have QBooks online and Intuit payroll online. Thank you!

    • John Says:

Recurring appointments are high on our list of improvements Brenda. You and many others have been asking for it. It didn’t make our last release where we focused on improvements to our calendar, however it won’t be long before we get it in there. Thanks for your feedback!

Will Customer Manager Online sync with QB Online? We are using QB 2007 now, and we are wanting to upgrade to either 2009 or Online.

Also, will it synch the calendar and contacts with Outlook? We need that too!

      Thank you.

    • John Says:

Hi Dean. Right now we are focused on getting sync with QuickBooks 2009 (and 2010 - under construction) working well. We’ll then start focusing on QuickBooks Online.

We haven’t yet worked on syncing appointments with Outlook. What’s interesting to you about syncing the calendar in Customer Manager with Outlook vs. just using the calendar in Customer Manager alone?

      Thanks for the feedback!

    • Dean Says:

We use Palm Treo Pro phones (not “Pre”). These phones use the Windows Mobile OS, and they auto-sync with Outlook anytime they are connected to the system.

If we could sync with QB Online, it would push us that direction. If we could also sync to Outlook, we would have the best of both worlds - without needing to run Customer Manager locally. I suppose that is also an option (for now), but if we run the local version, then we lose the shared calendars!?

We are using QB 2007, ACT! CRM, Outlook, and WebOffice (by WebEx) right now, but we don’t have syncing and good data interchange. It’s a clunky mess. ACT! is slow & buggy. WebOffice costs an arm & a leg - and doesn’t sync with Outlook. Nothing is talking to QB. I would like to consider switching to QB & Customer Manager (both online) with Manager syncing with QM and Outlook to make life sweet.

      Any suggestions or ideas?

Can you make it happen before tomorrow?!

      Thanks!

I would like you to see this built into the Quickbooks actual software package. So many of my clients are using different software for specific areas of managing their business. They would pay MORE for QuickBooks if Appointment scheduling and a more expanded TO DO option was included.

People are looking to see an existing software OFFER more in one package then having to use seperate applications (even if they are syncing information.)

I have been using Quickbooks since it was a DOS program and i am an QB Advisor. I normally look forward to the changes to the system from year to year. In the last couple of years the changes were not significant enough to recommend clients to upgrade.(they are upgrading only when forced, support expires.

I understand that the CMO system is only in BETA for now, but unless you make it “jump and Sing” for the customer most will stay with Outlook or ACT, it’s just not robust enough to make clients fight a change over.

    • John Says:

      Hi Mary,

Customer Manager syncs customer data with QuickBooks in a way that will help the office get organized and be efficient (all your customer information available in one place). We’ve found in talking with small businesses that many people don’t want all their employees using QuickBooks… for many different reasons.

Our goal is to help small businesses get to all the critical information about a customer in one place. If there is information in QuickBooks that you think is valuable to see in the one page customer view, let us know. We’re always interested.

Thank you for your loyalty and support of QuickBooks over the years! We plan on continuing to make Customer Manager “jump and sing.” We know ACT and Outlook aren’t cutting it.

      -John
