We are super excited, Customer Manager Online beta is getting a little better today. Our newest release includes sync with QuickBooks 2009, meaning your customer contact information stays up to date in both places and you don’t have to enter information twice. Also, everyone using Customer Manager Online can see how much someone owes and the total revenue they’ve generated for the business.
This was a big effort for our team it wasn’t as easy as it might sound. We’d love your feedback on how it is working for you. If you are an existing tester we know you wanted this… here are some of the comments we read.
“Is there a way to “sync” customer manager with the QuickBooks. So I don’t have to enter info twice?”
“Why cant I re-synchronize with Quickbooks?… It synchronized when I first created the account, but now is not updating my customer contacts… even though I’ve added several more customers to Quickbooks.”
So, how did we do? If you are considering Customer Manager Online beta, this should make it really easy to get started, all your customers come up from QuickBooks and automatically start syncing.
And among the other changes, we wanted to continue to make it really easy to get started with the beta. So along with automatically getting customer information from QuickBooks, you can get your contacts imported from Outlook. Again, here are some things we heard, how’d we do?
“It would be great if I could select contacts from my Outlook to be imported”
“There may be information kept in Outlook that is not kept in QB.”
“I use Business Contact Manager in Outlook, and I want THAT address book integrated”

I tried to subscribe to blog using IE and Chrome but both just redirect to a page of code.
Thanks for your feedback, you may be seeing an issue with the way certain browsers display Subscribing via RSS. We will be fixing this shortly in a planned blog update.
Thanks!

I am trying to figure out how to sync up CMO to my current Customer Manager file. Our Quickbooks data is not what we use to manage our data - we currently have Customer Manager 2.5. Please let me know how I can import this data instead of the Quickbooks data.
Hi AccountingMom. Thanks for your post. Our current beta doesn’t yet bring information over from the previous Customer Manager Desktop product. We’re looking into that now.
It is great to have you in the beta!
How can I print the calendar?
Can you sync Quick Books online with Customer Manager online?
Hi Alan,
Customer Manager Online cannot yet sync with the QuickBooks Online edition. We know it is just as important for those Small Businesses as it is for ones who use the desktop version. We are working to see how quickly we can bring that together.
Thank you for your post!
I don’t see any more the option to sync with Quick Books
I have see this option only whan I creted my account once, but id did disapper after the first login
Please help
I am in need of a product that I will also be able to access or at least sync with my treo smartphone. Is that available with Customer Manager Online? If so, how?
Hi Paul. We’ve heard from others like you who want to get their customer information on their mobile device and are working on ideas. Many folks have told us that even just simply separating their customer contact information from their personal contacts is valuable… and they’ve given more insight into other types of customer information they want when out of the office. We’d love to hear from you… here is a link to submit requests )
Hi Sam. Thanks for your post. We’ve found that some people have difficulty seeing the small yellow arrow next to the word “Comment” on the home page. Select that and you should see the way to get directions to sync. Also, check out our help.
Hi Heather,
Thanks for your question. The current beta doesn’t optimize for printing the calendar, but one way to work around that is to take a screenshot of the calendar and then print the screenshot. We are looking into printing optimization and understanding the needs of businesses. Do you usually print out the full month? Or is it mainly week and day?
Hello,
It would be great if Customer Manager sync’d with Quickbooks online edition. Then you would have a complete online solution!
Is this something they’re working on?
For some reason, I see 2 of every one of my customers in my CMO interface. Now, I see 2 of every customer in my Quickbooks Premium local file. Is this an error in sync or upload or something. It is going to take quite a while to delete the incorrect customers.
I need project tracking.
I do multiple projects for individual customers and need to bring these together. QBCM 2.5 does this, but I would like to se it in this format online with a shared database.
When will this be available
I’m adding my vote for integration with Quickbooks Online! Please, please bring this feature out for your small business users soon. I’m going to be so excited if/when you do!
Thanks for your comment Vivian, we appreciate your feedback! We are actively looking into this as an additional feature of Customer Manager Online. Stay tuned to the blog for more detail!
