    Don’t take the long way…

    Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

Do you know how easy it is to get back to Customer Manager Online? Once you sign up for the application, you can sign back into the application a couple of ways:

    * The access points in QuickBooks only appear in QuickBooks 2009 R2 or later. If you don’t see them in your 2009 product, try running your QuickBooks Updates.

  • Feedback is a Gift

    Friday, May 15th, 2009

Thank you for all the great feedback on our beta so far. It helps us learn from you how to build a product that helps small businesses serve and impress their customers. Keep it coming, please! Personally I’m learning from you everyday, and it just plain gets me excited to see you using Customer Manager Online. Here are some examples…

Customer Manager Desktop users. Folks who using the desktop version of Customer Manager (or tried it in the past) are letting us know they are ready to switch… when we make a couple improvements, of course! They like (1) that several people can use Customer Manager Online at the same time and (2) that they can easily access their customer information from home.

QuickBooks users. I also like learning from the businesses who use QuickBooks (from us here at Intuit) to manage their customers. We want to help them with their customer relationships just as much as QuickBooks has helped them with their finances.

Outlook users. We have some beta testers that haven’t used QuickBooks yet, but are looking for ways to manage their customer information. You can understand how much they’ve liked Outlook import to help them get contacts into Customer Manager Online quickly.

I’ll end with a couple of my favorite feedback submissions of the week. You can see why I picked them…

WoHooo! I have many ideas to improve the experience. So many, in fact, I was considering developing my own. =)

Glad you don’t have to any longer.

At any given time we may be working with 25-30 Customers, with several of our employees assigned different tasks and different time lines. Do you think your system is sophisticated enough to handle the job?

Go for it… we’re working hard to help you do just that!

    Customer Manager Online is Multi-User!

    Friday, May 8th, 2009

We’re seeing more and more businesses sign up for our beta program, thank you! Several people have figured out that they can invite others to use Customer Manager Online. Anyone you work with can have access to the same customer information.  We hope you invite those you think will benefit.

We’re focused on helping get the right information for anyone who needs it… you know, for when your speaking with a customer on the phone, or maybe just getting a quick question answered about them (maybe even at home for either case).

What we’ve learned is that many small businesses have several people who work with their customers directly, some even part time employees. Each of those people can have log in access to Customer Manager Online so that if they need to track important customer information for others to know about, they can. All of it is readily available for anyone to view.

Everyone needs access to contact information, but remember other features like free form notes. Notes make it possible to give information to everyone you work with (or work for). One of many examples I’ve seen is keeping notes about kids names, spouses names, perhaps even favorite sports team so people can talk about something more personal than the weather. Of course, also use notes to keep important information about your business relationship with your customers.

Here is how to invite other people, (remember to provide application access to a user after you invite them… it doesn’t make much sense we know and are working on it).

    1. Select Share from the home page

    2. Select Manage or add users

    3. Send an invitation to the person you want to invite, then go back and provide them application access to that person

Check out these pictures for the pages I’m talking about.
